Cheray is available for RMT in the studio on Mondays-Thursdays.

Personally healing from my own injuries from a MVA accident, I can now relate and help educate clients on how body awareness of movement after an injury is the key to recovery. Massage therapy is not the only way to break up scar tissue, holding patterns, and help with the stress of getting over trauma in deeper tissue layers. Learning what specialty massage techniques work best during stages of  healing along with learning proper, safe strengthening, stretching exercises through exercise rehabilatation helps prevent  incorrect movement patterns and bad posture  and keeps the body moving pain free.

Dr. Andrew Eberding: Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Andrew Eberding: Naturopathic Doctor

Anybody who knows me, knows I love to help people. I was raised on a farm in the Cariboo district. This is where I learned many of the values and skills I use as resources every day – problem solving, the power of the natural world, the value of hard work and perseverance (to name a few). My life’s journey prior to naturopathic medicine included forays into a wide diversity of fields; from cancer research to delivery driver, from the ancient craft of timber-framing to biotechnology, from production labourer to tower design. It is this broad spectrum of experience that allows me to have some insight into most of my patient’s daily lives: the struggles and inspirations inherent to them. It was my role as a parent which led me into naturopathic medicine. As a young man holding my own children, I felt the scale and significance of the responsibility with which I was facing. I wanted to do as much as possible to support my sons as they grew. I learned about health and treatments that were not part of the healthcare model; I became impassioned to bring them to those in need. I could not learn enough; I knew I had found my calling. My road to naturopathic medicine was long and convoluted. Balancing family life and getting an education was a challenge. With the seemingly unending support of my wife Laura, I managed to earned a in Chemistry and Biochemistry from UNBC, a MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from UBC and, finally, a Naturopathic Doctorate from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.

Functional, individualized medicine is something that I feel privileged to provide for my patients. Every day I feel fortunate to spend time with my patients who are reaching ever higher levels of health. Naturopathic medicine is rooted in giving the patient the tools to heal themselves. This can mean many things, but overall it boils down to ensuring nutrient availability, supporting adequate elimination functions, reestablishing structural balance and managing integration within the environment at all levels of self: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and social.

I treat people with many different conditions and I enjoy the full spectrum of challenges that my patients bring to me to help them resolve. I have specialized training in prolotherapy: an injection-based therapy that targets chronic joint injuries. No matter what area pains you, I have had success treating it; from headaches to plantar fasciitis. It is a powerful therapy to remove unresolved injuries and pains. Another focus I have had success treating in my practice is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I have seen dramatic shifts in both adults and children The great part of treating children is they heal so quickly. Adults take longer to come around, but I have seen amazing improvements in behaviour and performance in them as well. Regardless of where you are on the health spectrum, I help you become one step better.

Dr. Andrew Eberding is available Fridays in the studio starting Dec 1, 2017.
